Italian Alpine Trout Flies 1.
These flies are much more modern patterns and were given in “International Trout Flies” by W. H. Lawrie (1969). Dyed elasticized nylon as used in stocking manufacture size 60/2, was used for bodies but silks, tying threads or flosses of the appropriate colour would work.
The Heads appear to be an important part of the dressing and for the fluorescent colours, there are plenty of modern threads and flosses that can be used. Taff Price’s recommended sizes for these flies are 16-20.
